Single Origin Showcase: Ethiopia

by Kaitlin Graham 10 Oct 2023

According to legend, the coffee plant was first discovered in Ethiopia. Today, it’s so much more than a crop. It’s a part of Ethiopian culture that goes back centuries and contributes to the economic stability of over 15 million farmers and workers.

Coffee beans drying on raised beds in Sideman Ethiopia overlooking rural landscape

Our organic Heirloom Ethiopia beans are grown by the Oromia Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (OCFCU). The democratic farmer-owned co-op farms, processes, and exports high-quality Arabica coffee, and the members operate under the principles of the International Cooperative Alliance and Fair Trade.

Grown at altitudes between 1,000 and 2,250 meters (3,300-7,400 ft.), the beans are harvested between November and March and are naturally processed and sun-dried on raised beds to bring bright, sunshiny flavors to every sip!

This medium-light roast notes bright acidity, medium body, and complex flavors. Savor the tastes of milk chocolate, fruit, and caramel.
